Description | Hyaluronic acid (HA), which chemically belongs to the family of glycosaminoglycans, is an essential part of an extracellular matrix. It significantly contributes to the process of tissue reparation and it modulates individual phases of wound healing. It participates in both inflammatory and granulation phase, it supports the epithelization and remodelation of tissues. Bionect (gauze pads and cream) containing hyaluronic acid sodium salt represents a new bandage for the treatment of both acute and chronic wounds. The following article describes a study that assessed the efficacy of Bionect in the treatment of both acute and chronic wounds of a different etilogy. Study results showed that Bionect significantly improved the healing of both acute and chronic uninfected wounds. Additionally, following the application the pain quickly relieves, which improves patients quality of life. Bionect positively affects the final state of a scar - hyaluronic acid reduces excessive collagen, which leads to a reduced scarring. |
