Description	The article deals with an analysis of a composition of the mixed municipal waste in the city of Brno in the last 20 years. The first part describes the methodology of analysis which was developed from the older Czech methodology originated in the 1980's. Due to the relatively fine division of the waste from the city of Brno into 50 different material groups it is possible with a determinable degree of uncertainty, to compare the results not only with a European SWA methodology, but also with analyses conducted according to similar methodologies in the Czechia, Slovakia and in Poland. It is based on an implementation in three types of buildings (housing, residential and rural) in the exact ratio and a determination of granulometric fractions.
