Martin Krobot and Veronika Zelenková from the Department of Public Health are the authors of the Czech version of the milk ladder, which helps people with cow’s milk protein allergies train their immune systems.

The Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University has successfully completed another key milestone within the HR Excellence in Research Award (HRS4R) process. In May 2026, the Faculty submitted a new Internal Review to the European Commission, summarising progress in implementing measures over the previous period, and simultaneously presented an updated Action Plan for 2026–2029.

A project focused on researching new treatment options for melanoma, carried out by Stjepan Uldrijan’s research group at the Department of Biology, was rated “excellent” by the Czech Science Foundation (GA ČR) in its final evaluation.

Since 2021, the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University has held the HR Excellence in Research award, which confirms its long-standing commitment to a fair, transparent, and high-quality work environment for both research and academic staff. At the turn of 2025 and 2026, the third questionnaire survey focused on working conditions, professional development, and the overall satisfaction of employees and doctoral students was conducted. A total of 93 respondents across all career levels participated in the survey.

An international research team led by Zuzana Kadlecová from the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, and the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research has described how a cell releases itself from the surrounding tissue and sets off on its journey. The study, published in the prestigious journal Nature Communications, overturns the established view of the enzyme AAK1 and opens the door to drugs that could specifically slow the movement of cancer cells without disrupting other vital cellular functions.

The results of the 7th annual Czech DIGI@MED Award were announced at Karolinum in Prague during the last week of May. The competition recognises innovative digital solutions and technological projects that have the potential to improve patient care, facilitate healthcare professionals' work, and modernise the Czech healthcare system. In the Innovation in Healthcare Delivery category, the winner was 3Diamond, an innovative platform enabling secure, fully controlled point-of-care 3D printing directly in hospitals, developed by our spin-off company, the Institute of Biostatistics and Analysis, Ltd.
