Description MicroRNAs are short non-coding single-stranded RNAs 18-25 nt long that post-transcriptionaly regulate gene expression. They have to be produced in right time on right place in optimal amount. Biogenesis of microRNAs begins with transcription, which is followed by numerous steps, which results in existence of mature microRNA molecule. Each step of this process is regulated and deregulation of the whole cascade can lead to diverse diseases including cancer. The aim of this study was to analyze the expresseion of genes involved in microRNAs biogenesis in colorectal cancer patients.
