| Description | A 5-year-old boy was examined for pain of left foot. On admission were local findings on both lower limbs without abnormalities. X-ray examination showed aseptic necrosis of left os naviculare, so-called morbus Köhler 1 (MK). MK is a relative rare disease, usually is unilateral and the most patients are boys aged between 4-7 years. The decisive diagnostic modality for MK is X-ray imaging. Treatment requires decrease of physical acitivity for at least 4-6 weeks. They are also suitable special insoles. Check X-ray examination is appropriate after 6-18 months. Prognosis of MK favourable. |
