Description Anemia in the elderly is common and is usually mild and in most cases > 100 g /l. However, it is not only associated with higher morbidity and even mortality. The prevalence of new anemia increases compared to 65–69–year–old (3–4 %) of people for the 85th year at the age of two to three times. If it is determined microcytic anemia, you need to carefully search for a possible source of bleeding.
