Description Complete mesolithic excision allows the elimination of all lymph nodes in the mesocolon due to the preparation in embryo-conditioned anatomical layers with the central lining of the vessels. Compared to standard resection, there is a greater risk of perioperative complications in injury to vascular structures or surrounding organs. Even greater incidence of postoperative complications (circulatory instability, respiratory infections) leads us to the necessity of selecting patients indicated for CME, especially where curative resection of malignant tumor is expected. The reserved approach is for the conditions of acute, polymorbid patients, patients with unresectable metastases, and para-morphal lymphadenopathy.
