Description Two novel synthetized ultrashort-acting beta-blockers 44BU and 444 show the same potency to induce bradycardia, the effect is faster in the case of 444. Their bradycardic effect is weaker than that of esmolol, ultrashort-acting beta-blocker used in clinical practise. 44BU and 444 induce the full block of the sodium current INa in contrast to 50%-block induced by esmolol. The transient outward current Ito is also blocked more potently by 44BU and 444 than by esmolol. The blockade of IK and IK1 is approximately the same in the presence of 44BU, 444 and esmolol.
