Description The aim of the following series of articles on Caesarean section is to provide a current view of most anesthetic procedures in caesarean section and open up some, maybe not controversial topics. This view is based both on the current literature, and above all also summarizes the consensus views of the Expert Group obstetric anesthesia and analgesia (ESPA), which works as an expert to the Committee ČSARIM. ESPA As one of the main goals just gave presentation and moderation of current topics in obstetric anesthesia Anesthesia & intensive care medicine, currently nerozšířenějšího Czech media professional in our field. The first step is a four-part series on "Current practice in obstetric anesthesia" trying not only to summarize the current trends, but also commentary and spilling over into the Czech hospital environment and experience. In this first part discusses the question of the choice of anesthesia for cesarean, oxygen, thromboprophylaxis, hypotension, severe hypertension and administration of oxytocin.
