Description Vanishing lung syndrome represents the end-stage of bullous lung disease. The condition is encountered by the surgeon only in case of complications such as perforation of a bulla with subsequent pneumothorax or infection of the bulla cavity. Unclear findings on an X-ray combined with acute dyspnea may cause diagnostic and therapeutic difficulties. The case report presents surgical complications of vanishing lung syndrome.
