| Description | The authors present a study with 49 patients treated for periprosthetic fracture after total knee replacement operated on in the years 1977-2013. They used AO plate 1 in two cases, AO plate 2 in 43 patients and NCB plate with polyaxial screws in 4 patients. They encountered failure in both patients with plate AO 1. They have achieved healing of the fracture in 86 % with AO 2 plate and in all patients with polyaxial plate. Prerequisity for succesful healing is correct technique, type of osteosynthesis and good classification system . |
