Description Acrodont ankylosis, i.e., a fixed connection of tooth with the mandible through the mineralized tissue is not commonplace in higher vertebrates. The connection begins to develop during embryonic development only class representatives Acrodonta and depending on their age gradually firming. It is therefore necessary to further understand the process of initiation and differentiation of this effect. To study acrodont ankylosis several methods were used. Histological analysis and X-ray computed (micro-) tomography (uCT) were used to specify the exact changeover between the tooth and mandible. LIBS method was utilized to determine majority of the elements distribution contained in tooth and mandible (calcium, phosphorus and magnesium).
