Description Pathogens Coxiella burnetii, Francisella tularensis and Hantaan virus produce zoonotic diseases that can be transmitted to humans through ticks, hosts or water contaminated with feces reservoir animals, especially rodents. In this study, we focus on the possible occurrence of a contact with these pathogens in rodents at selected sites in Czech Republic (Poodří, Moravský Kras). The aim of this epidemiological study is to determine the prevalence of pathogenic microorganisms (pathogens Q-fever, tularemia and Hantavirus infections) caught by rodents and indirectly their integration into the life cycle of these pathogens. The methodology is based on the detection of these infectious agens in rodent organs or against them produced antibodies in their serum and heart washouts. By the ELISA method was detected the presence of specific antibodies against Coxiella burnetii in sera in 9.5% and 5.3% in the washouts; Francisella tularensis in sera of 8.1% and 4.3% in the washouts. Using nested RT-PCR was detected by the presence of hantavirus RNA in lung tissue of rodents and 98 samples were examined hantaviruses present in 3 cases.
