Description This article refers results of a study, which was realized between years 2013 and 2014 and aimed on efficiency of the binocular prismatic correction in patients with central retinal impairment. The binocular visual acuity, binocular summation of visual acuity and subjective ratings of prismatic and non-prismatic correction were observed. It was found out that visual performance (summation) with non-prismatic correction is markedly higher in the group of subjects with healthy eyes, but the performance with prismatic correction is about the same in both groups. Further, there is no significant correlation between subjective rating and achieved binocular visual acuity and summation.
