Description Optic neuritis (ON) is an inflammatory optic nerve disease that is strongly associated with multiple sclerosis (MS). Axonal damage in the optic nerve is manifested as retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) deficits that can be detected by the optical coherence tomography (OCT).
