Description This document reflects the need to define the clinical indications for cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging and their appropriate time schedule corresponding to current technical as well as economic conditions of health care providers in the Czech Republic. It represents the Expert Opinion of the Joint Working Group of the Czech Society of Cardiology and Czech Radiological Society of the Czech Medical Society J.E. Purkyne and is based on current international recommendations and consensus documents. Given the suboptimal availability of CMR in our conditions, only unambiguous indications for CMR are listed below; however, they do not include all possible clinical applications of CMR. The wider use of CMR based on current international recommendations depends on the local capabilities of individual centers. The time schedule of CMR examination is aimed at hospitals equipped with magnetic resonance (MR), which include Cardiocenters of the 1st or 2nd degree. The present consensus document is to be interpreted as a recommendation that should be used in the context of local conditions and possibilities of individual centers.
