Description In the last decades of the last century, the fate of oncologically ill children has improved significantly and more than 80% of them have long-term remissions in developed countries. However, the first two decades of the new millennium have witnessed some stagnation in improving overall survival, and despite a better percentage of remissions achieved in a number of areas such as metastatic sarcomas, H3K27M mutated midline gliomas or some ependymomas, a significant percentage of patients are currently on treatment. inadequate, short-term or associated with very severe acute and long-term toxicity.
