| Description | Sedation is an important part of care of patients on mechanical ventilation with the aim to improve their comfort. In this review article, adequate analgesia, clinical assessment of sedation depth, comparison of light versus deep sedation including its effect on clinically relevant outcomes, and comparison of common sedative agents are discussed. |
