Description Acute heart failure is a life-threatening medical emergence, commonly found in the intensive care unit and emergency department. The intensivist must be able to recognize acute heart failure and distinguish it from other diseases that may lead to the development of similar symptoms and signs. To properly treat, it is necessary to understand the basic pathophysiological mechanisms and know the basic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for acute heart failure.
