| Description | The case report describes the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in a senior pacient with 12 years of diabetes, and with gradually deteriorating glomerular filtration, which inadver-tently led to a reduction in pharmacotherapy options. With a decrease in GFR, treatment with metformin was reduced and subsequently discontinued, and linagliptin therapy was ter¬minated upon the initiation of Toujeo insulin therapy. Experience has shown that in many cases similar to this one, injection of the basal insulin analogue glargine 300 U/mL (Toujeo) is a reliable, efFective and safe treatment option. |
