Description The keynote lecture presented results of the Czech part of the international Hope Barometer research project, the aim of which was to determine the level of hope, mental health, and posttraumatic growth aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. The representative sample consisted of 692 Czech adults aged 18 to 86 (44% men). The data were obtained using an online anonymous questionnaire in November 2021. The results of the analysis showed that respondents were unsatisfied with the way the country deals with the pandemic, the national politics, and the economy, however, they were satisfied with their personal life. Higher well-being was related to higher hope and posttraumatic growth, and lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. We revealed four factors significantly related to higher stress-related personal growth: Cognitive strategies (Positive reframing, Planning), Behavioral strategies (Active approach), Interpersonal strategies (Social support), and Transcendental aspects (Religion and spirituality). Finally, practical recommendations were suggested to maintain mental health during the Covid-19 pandemic.
