Description Some patients after the disease of COVID-19 develop long-lasting symptoms, which affect not only the physical, but also the psychological state. The mentioned symptoms are persistent respiratory problems, fatigue, impaired adaptation to exercise, physical and mental deconditioning, headaches and joint pains. Recent literature emphasizes early rehabilitation in these patients as essential. The purpose of the paper is to present a specific rehabilitation program of group physiotherapy for patients who have experienced the disease of COVID-19 at the rehabilitation clinic of the Clinic of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Faculty Hospital at St. Anna in Brno. The program is based on recommended procedures for pulmonary rehabilitation in the case of COVID-19 from recent literature. It consists of 8 therapies taking place twice a week. Therapy is conducted as a group, for 2-4 patients. The group is heterogeneous, including patients with symptomatic, asymptomatic, hospitalized and non-hospitalized patients. For that reason, there are two physiotherapists in each group. It is focused not only on the elements of respiratory physiotherapy, but also on postural security, correct sitting, and endurance training. An integral part is the motivation of patients to physical activity and support of self-confidence. Patients go through an entrance and exit clinical examination, spirometry, a questionnaire survey of fatigue and subjective perception of the state of health in lung diseases. During therapy, the values of finger pulse oximetry, heart rate, subjective Borg scale of shortness of breath and subjective perception of fatigue are regularly monitored, always at the beginning, during and at the end of the therapy unit. Patients are actively guided and motivated to self-therapy and continue the learned movement behavior even after the end of the program. To improve quality and a more individual approach, students of the Bachelor's and Master's program of physiotherapy of the MUNI Faculty of Medicine are also included in the program.
