Description Subjectively perceived time can be distorted by the visual properties of the stimuli we are observing. Previous research has shown that unpleasant stimuli and stimuli that elicit a greater neural response cause an expansion of subjectively perceived time. It remains unclear whether the magnitude of this effect may vary with respect to individual sensory sensitivity when perceiving visual stimuli. For clarification, we propose an innovative research design of two experiments in virtual reality (VR). The methodological and instrumental aspects discussed in this paper have the potential to lead to the development of a new behavioral tool for testing visual sensitivity. The output of the research can help improve the design of virtual and real environments.
