| Description | Rare causes of dyspnoea include giant bullous emphysema, otherwise called vanishing lung syndrome. It is a bulla or bullae filling at least one third of the chest and oppressing the surrounding lung with a typical radiological finding often mistaken for pneumothorax. The presented case report illustrates diagnostic and therapeutic doubts and mistakes regarding this syndrome, including its complications, and contemplates performing judicious examinations and procedures in the 21st century medicine. |
