Description Monitoring and evaluation of the quality of health care provided should be a routine medicale care. Correct monitoring of the criteria is only possible on the basis of data collection through the creation of an appropriate database. Clinically relevant criteria can be further based on three main parameters monitored, which include the occurrence of postopertive sepsis, the need for transfusion and 30-day mortality. More parametrs can be propoused, e.g. number of R1 resection, number of rehospitalizations, number of patient with prolonged postoperative air fistula, number of reoperations, asseessment of the incidence of major postoperative complication according to the Clavien-Dindo classification.
