Description The authors investigated the cariousness of the teeth on the bone remains of the Slovanic inhabitans. These skeletons are dating to the 9th and 10th centuries and coming from the burial site at Olomouc-Nemilany. A total of 794 teeth were appraised and 933 dental alveoli were examined. The intensity of the cariousness of the permanent dentition was proved about 20.8% and the frequency of the dental carieses researched up to 72.9%. These two values were higher in the women. From the different types of teeth the most of dental carieses were found on molars,
