| Description | This paper deals with the relevant questions of a medical anthropology and paleopathology. The paper points out the significance of these scientific fields and gives their limitations (i.e. identification of individuals, study of skeletal remains of historian populations, optimises the procedure of diagnosis of changes on bones due to diseases) and studies possibilities of using the results achieved for some medical and social sciences. The authors give also a diagram of the optimal procedure of paleopathological analyses created on the basis of their own experience. As an example of the methodological approach the anthropological and paleopathological analyses of skeletal remains of the Moravian nobleman Karel starší ze Žerotína (15641636) and the identification of his skull is shown. |
