Description Erythropoietin was applied in addition to preoperative autologous blood donation (PABD) and acute normovolemic haemodilution (ANH). Low erythropoietin doses effectively facilitate PABD, decrease the frequency of allogeneic transfusion and increase the red blood cell values in the post-operative period.
