Description | The aim was to proof if there is a correlation between apoptosis and cerebral tissue oxygen (PtO2). This correlation the might be used in a clinical setting for example during temporary clipping in aneurysmal surgery or other types of temporary cerebral vessel occlusion. The results show a close correlation of apoptosis and tissue oxygen in an ischemic brain. Moreover hypertension seems to work as a good neuroprotection since it improved the levels of tissue oxygen and thus decreased the numer of apoptotic cells. |
