Description In this study, we sought to eliucidate the role of genetic variability in the NADPH oxidase gene in asthma susceptibility by means of association study of three polymorphisms (SNPs) in the CYBA (cytochrome b(-245) alpha) gene (16q24.3) encoding p22phox subunit of NADPH oxidase. Our study supports hypothesis that genetic variability in the CYBA gene probably contributes to the susceptibility to the bronchial asthma (or its related phenotypes) in the Czech population.
