Description Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) is a rare primary immunodeficiency caused by impaired phagocytosis. This review summarizes available information on all patients who were diagnosed and treated in the Czech and Slovak Republic between years 1957 and 2008. The cohort consists of 34 patients (31 males, 3 females) from 23 families;26 patients were in the Czech Republic, 8 patients in Slovakia. In 22 patients the data were acquired through questionnaire survey, data on the other patients were extracted from published studies. Estimated average live birth incidence of CGD in the Czech Republic is 1:280.000.
