Description Molecule VEGF A plays a crucial role in the pathophysiology and development of neovascular membranes, and increased vascular permeability. VEGF is the lone player in this field, but his role is crucial. VEGF A is present in the choroid and retinal structures, both in physiological and in pathological circumstances. It is evidence of increased concentrations of VEGF in the vitreous of patients with wet AMD. Anti VEGF therapy has significant anti angiogenic effects and antipermeability.
