Description In 2007, 6500 new cases of breast cancer (BC) were diagnosed in the Czech Republic (incidence of 123 cases (69.8 ASR-W) per 100 000), placing the Czech Republic among the top 30 countries with the highest incidence of BC globally. Etiopathogenesis research confirmed that breast cancers are biologically and clinically heterogenic group of tumours. The aim of our research was to analyse available epidemiological data in the context of new molecular, genetic and biological knowledge of the disease.
