Description Purpose:Evaluation of the effectiveness and safety of implantation of anterior chamber phakic intraocular lenses Verisyse in treatment of high myopic or hyperopic anisometropia Patients and methods: In the period 2001 - 2009 unilateral implantation of anterior chamber lenses Verisyse for correction of high myopic anisometropia (-11 to -19.5, SE) in 38 eyes, high hyperopic anisometropia (+7,25 to +10.5 D, SE) at 11 eyes and bilateral high ametropia (more than +6.0 D in 4 eyes of 2 children, and more than -10 D in 12 eyes of 6 children) in children with neurological disorders such as cerebral palsy, autism) and intolerance correction glasses or contact lenses were performed. Conclusion: Amblyopia in high anisometropia is relatively frequent and serious therapeutic challenge in pediatric ophthalmology. Failure of conventional treatment using contact lenses event. combination with spectacle correction leads to the loss of visual function fitting irreversible amblyopia. Implantation of phakic anterior chamber intraocular lens (pACIOL) Verisyse is based on long-term results of effective and safe treatment method. If all indication criteria are observed, it brings children patients with high anisometropia outside the range of -11.0 to +7.0 D and intolerance to contact lenses to improve and stabilize visual functions including binocular vision. In children with neurological disorders and high ametropia with the impossibility of correction of refractive errors with traditional methods allows implantation pACIOL improvement of visual function improvement in quality of life.
