Advanced Cell Immunotherapy Unit

The field of cell therapy and immunotherapy has been a rapidly developing part of academic research at the Faculty of Medicine in recent years.

The division dealing with cell therapy and immunotherapy became part of the Babák Research Institute in 2010. The team consists of renowned staff with experience in European and domestic projects, especially in the field of cell therapy and immunotherapy. An integral part of the team is clean production facilities with the relevant permission from the State Institute for Drug Control for the production of modern therapy medicines. The Babák Research Institute's research team obtained this permission as the first academic institute in the country in 2007 and continues to develop activities including its own non-commercial clinical trials with DB and AEL in patients with metastatic melanoma, glioblastoma, renal cell carcinoma, and pediatric oncology patients.

It has also newly validated MSC production for the treatment of severe and life-threatening graft-versus-host adverse reactions following allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation.
