Horizon Europe offers a number of funding opportunities for international research activities at the Faculty of Medicine MU. We pay special attention to the prestigious European Research Council grants (ERC grants) and the Health Cluster, which in the second pillar, together with the Cancer Mission, specifically focuses on medical and health research.

Tentative calendar of ERC calls for 2022
The European Research Council has published a tentative calendar of ERC calls for 2022. The second calls for ERC Starting and Consolidator grants in Horizon Europe should be open in autumn 2021 with deadlines at the beginning of 2022.
ERC Synergy Grants
On 18 July 2019, the European Research Council announced a call for ERC Synergy Grants
The aim of the call is to support groups of 2-4 main researchers and their teams in the joint solution of a top research project with breakthrough discoveries, which could not be achieved if each researcher worked separately.
ERC Starting Grants
On 17 July 2019,the European Research Council launched a call for ERC Starting Grants. The call aims to support independent careers of outstanding young scientists in the phase of creating their independent research teams or programmes. The call is open to all researchers who received their Ph.D. between 2–7 years prior to 1 January 2020.
