| Description | Surgical treatment of Crohn’s disease is indicated by the failure of conservative treatment or by such complications as intestinal stricture and ileus. The present case report describes diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease in a 17-year-old patient and performance of an ileo-transverse anastomosis. The patient had undergone surgery at age 14 at the adult surgical department, during which time surgical revision of the abdominal cavity had been necessary due to ileus. Objectification of the gastrointestinal tract had been endoscopically aggravated at that time by unclear findings in the transverse colon. After clarification of the anatomical situation, surgical removal of the ileo-transverse anastomosis and resection of the pre terminal ileum had been performed. The patient had then been treated according to guidelines and left in stable clinical condition to the care of an adult gastroenterologist. |
