| Description | No new group of antihypertensives was developed in the past years and target blood pressure values are being reached with monotherapy in 30% of population only. The major reasons for ineffective treatment of hypertension are an insufficient use of combined therapy, especially with fixed-dose combinations, and poor patient compliance. This article deals with combinations of two or three antihypertensives, special attention being paid to their use in specific situations and to the strive for metabolic neutrality of treatment, lowering of adverse effect rate, and patient compliance improvement. |
