Description In adult patients (pts) with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), the balanced translocation t(8;16)(p11;p13) is a very rare abnormality resulting in the fusion of MYST3 and CREBBP. Both genes encode proteins with histone acetyltransferase activity and are involved in transcriptional regulation. Previous small series suggested a poor outcome but neither prospective nor larger retrospective cohort studies are available to support these results.
