Description The spatial chromatin organization has been recognized as essential for fundamental cell processes. Disruption of its hierarchical structure can be caused by chromosomal rearrangements, which, especially in cancer cells, lead to aberrant molecular signaling. We aim to study altered genome structure in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), the most common type of leukemia in adults. We are particularly interested in the analysis of long-distance chromatin interactions and the formation of topologically associated domains (TADs), which might play a role in CLL pathogenesis.
