Description Acute poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis (APSGN) is the most common cause of acute glomerulonephritis in children. This disease mainly affects children aged 3-12 years, and in most cases the etiological agent is group A beta-hemolytic streptococci. APSGN typically manifests with symptoms of nephritic syndrome. Less often, it occurs asymptomatically as a nephrotic syndrome or as a rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis. In some cases, it is even necessary to start one of the elimination methods. The authors describe a case report of severe APSGN accompanied by nephrotic syndrome and requiring the use of an elimination method
