Description Image analysis disclosed the higher intensity of immunostaining for CB1 receptors in selected mesencephalic structures of the control animals than in methamphetamine treated rats. The down-regulation of CB1 receptors can decrease an inhibiting influence of GABA and thus the dopaminergic pathway activation by methamphetamine might be more intensive.
