Description The antioxidant properties of selected aporphine alkalods were studied. The antiradical activity against DPPH radical, redox potentials using HPLC-EC and cyclic voltametry were determined. The ability to scavenge DPPH radical decreased in the order corytuberine>bulbocapnine>magnoflorine>isocorydine>menisperine>isothebaine>corydine>glaucine. Redox potentials characterising the tendency to be oxidised measured using HPLC-EC were in in agreement with the results obtained by CC.Antiradical activity was related to the presence, number and position of phenolic groups.
