| Description | Hypertension treatment is, due to the high prevalence of this disease, an oft-discussed topic. It is necessary to say however, that there have not been any new drugs made available recently and we are able to reach target blood pressure (BP) values in roughly 30% of the patients. At the same time, patients with hypertension have a higher risk of cardiovascular diseases. The goal is to lower this risk. What are our options? Combined treatment is considered to be the best strategy in cases of insufficient control of arterial hypertension. |
