23 Mar 2023 4 PhD candidates from MED MUNI awarded with Brno Ph.D. Talent 2022 The City of Brno has once again supported young scientists. 18 of the winners of the Brno Ph.D. Talent are students of Masaryk University, 4 of them are studying in doctoral programmes at the Faculty of Medicine.
1 Mar 2023 Pharmacologists from MED MUNI developing therapies for rare diseases Only in the Czech Republic there are up to 600 thousand patients suffering from some rare disease. Scientists from the Department of Pharmacology and CZECRIN are developing personalized therapies that bring hope, at least for some of them.
24 Jan 2023 The Kick-off meeting of the MSCA FANTOM project took place at FM MU From 12 to 13 January 2023, the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University held a kick-off meeting for the project FANTOM: Future of ALCL: Novel Therapies, Origins, Bio-Markers and Mechanism of resistance coordinated by the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University. This prestigious project is funded by Horizon Europe, specifically the MSCA Doctoral Networks.
TIP 15 Dec 2022 Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University will be at the forefront of drug development for cell and gene therapies The international project of the European Centre of Excellence CREATIC has been successful in the Horizon Europe Teaming for Excellence call for proposals. This is an unprecedented success for Masaryk University Faculty of Medicine.
14 Dec 2022 Zuzana Sumbalová Koledová passed the 2nd round of ERC Consolidator Grant evaluation Zuzana Sumbalová Koledová has passed the second round of evaluation of her project proposal in the European Research Council call supporting independent careers of outstanding young scientists. This is the first ERC grant proposal ever which proceeded to the second round at FM MU.
12 Dec 2022 Nicola Silva published an article about the regulative function of PARG and BRCA1-BARD1 on DNA repair regulation The research of Nicola Silva´s team from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Medicine is primarily focused on studying different aspects of meiotic chromosome segregation, emphasizing the mechanisms that ensure faithful DNA repair.
12 Dec 2022 6 graduates of doctoral studies from LF MU together with their supervisors received an award for excellence in their studies Šárka Pospíšilová, Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Studies, presented awards for excellence in doctoral studies at MU to 33 graduates and their supervisors. Among the awardees were 6 graduates from the Faculty of Medicine.
