6 doctoral students from FM MU received the Vice-Rector's Award for Excellence in Studies

Six graduates of doctoral studies at LF MU, together with their supervisors and consultants, received the Masaryk University Vice-Rector's Award for Excellence in Doctoral Studies. A total of 31 Masaryk University students were awarded.

Strengthening our position as an institution of excellence in neuroscience research

Masaryk University has newly become part of the EBRAINS research infrastructure. The partnership opens up new opportunities for scientists in brain research. Among other things, they will have access to various analytical and simulation tools, cutting-edge computing platforms and the world's most comprehensive brain atlas.

Two Major Research Awards for Pavel Krejčí

Head of the research group at the Institute of Biology, Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, Pavel Krejčí received two major awards for his research in October. The Czech Health Research Council recognized his project as the most successful in the agency’s 10-year history, and he was awarded the Academic Prize by the Czech Academy of Sciences.

Aleš Hampl byl na Biologických dnech 2024 oceněn Babákovou medailí

Aleš Hampl, Head of the Department of Histology and Embryology, received the most important award of the Czech-Slovak Biological Society, the Babák Medal. Since 2003, he has been researching embryonic stem cell lines from human blastocysts in the Czech Republic. During the following years, he has significantly contributed to understanding the unique biological properties of this biomedically attractive cell type.

A unique treatment involving immunotherapy for a rare cancer syndrome: The story of two siblings

In May 2024, a team of authors from FM MU, CEITEC MU, Faculty of Science MU, joint departments at the University hospital Brno and collaborating Canadian institutions published an article in the prestigious journal Nature - NPJ Precision Oncology, which discusses the specialized treatment of two siblings with a rare cancer predisposition.
