A unique treatment involving immunotherapy for a rare cancer syndrome: The story of two siblings

In May 2024, a team of authors from FM MU, CEITEC MU, Faculty of Science MU, joint departments at the University hospital Brno and collaborating Canadian institutions published an article in the prestigious journal Nature - NPJ Precision Oncology, which discusses the specialized treatment of two siblings with a rare cancer predisposition.

Web AggreProt pomůže s léčbou neurodegenerativních onemocnění

Scientists from the ICRC of the Faculty of Medicine and the St. Anne's Hospital in Brno, Loschmidt Laboratories, the Technical University in Ostrava, IT4Innovations and the National Institute for Neurological Research have developed the AggreProt website. This tool should significantly facilitate the search for effective treatments for various neurodegenerative diseases.

Medical Cannabis newly to purchase in the pharmacy of St. Annes´s University Hospital

Medical cannabis, grown by researchers at the ICRC hospital cultivation facility, a joint workplace of FNUSA and FM MU, is now available in the hospital pharmacy. Two types of medicine are available to patients - one dose with a balanced ratio of THC and CBD and the other with a high THC content. Research on medicinal cannabis has been conducted by scientists for more than 5 years, and is one of the absolute leaders in the country.

Two PhD students won this year's Brno Ph.D. talent award

A cheque for CZK 330,000 for the next three years of doctoral studies was awarded to the Brno Ph.D. 15 of them are studying at Masaryk University, 2 PhD students are studying at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University.
