Trace Elements in Foodstuffs and Human Diet

Ondřej Zvěřina is an analytical chemist interested in trace elements and their occurrence in the environment. His doctoral thesis was focused on the mercury speciation in samples collected during Antarctic expeditions. Now he runs a laboratory at the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Science Masaryk university. He works with his students on deepening knowledge about trace elements in the environment. The methods he works with include various extractions and digestion, followed by detection using high-resolution GF-AAS or ICP-MS.
