Popis We read with great interest the study by Kacar et al., concerning exposure to dopaminergic medication and motor cortex plasticity and excitability in Parkinson's disease (PD).The authors used a paired associative protocol (PAS), short-interval intracortical inhibition (SICI), and intracortical facilitation (1CF) to measure the sensory-motor plasticity. We would like to discuss the observation that there was no significant interaction between facilitatory sensory-motor plasticity and the features of motor cortex excitability in PD. This observation indicates that long-term treatment does not seem to change the underlying physiology of the disease.
