Popis Background/Hypothesis The aim of this study was to evaluate the functional and clinical results of robotic assisted surgery in the treatment of the patients with pelvic floor dysfunction/complete rectal prolaps, rectocele, enterocele, cocmpression of the rectum../ Materials & Methods Between May 2006 and September 2007 25 patients underwent robotic rectopexy.Before the operation a detailed clinical history was collected, and the patients were studied by inspection and digital examination of the anorectum, endoscopy, pancolonic transit time, defecography, anorectal manometry and anal electromyography. After the operation all patients underwent perineal physiotherapy and perineal biofeedback Results In these patiens the functional results improved significantly after the operation. The basal pressure of the anal sphincter, squeezing pressure, rectoanal reflex, anal – perianal pain and evacuation dysorders improved significantly. Conclusions Robotic rectopexy has very good clinical and functional results with short postoperative hospital stay-it is very safe and effective method in the treatement of pelvic floor dysfunction
